Today’s era has led us to think that the concept of commitment is slowly going down the drain. Many of us who have jobs are busy juggling tasks, diving into the sea of opportunities to double our income. We put on different hats a day. We take one job after the other, when we are able and while time is in our hands. The art of multi-tasking has become our masterpiece.
Famous philosopher, Lao Tzu once believed that, “Time is a created thing. To say, ‘ I don’t have time’ is like saying, ‘I don’t want to.’” Time is a critical element in our daily lives. It is our compass to take us through our journey to reach our destination or our goal for that matter.
Each day, we wake up to look at our life map. We think about the things that we aspire and how to achieve it. The question of how long it will take depends on how much time you have and how deep your dedication is.
So, how do we really make the most of our time and be able to commit to it? Here are some tips to help us align ourselves:
Know and list your priorities according to importance.
In multi-tasking, a trusty to-do list come in handy to stay track on the task at hand. Your list is your commitment tracker.
Achieve balance between your work load between career and family life.
Proper planning and time management are factors to keep your eyes on target. If we have an imbalance it may lead to stress, weakness/illnesses, or even a mental health problem. To avoid this, there must be consistency and firmness to accomplish quality work and overcome challenges while exploring best solutions. It also pays to be on point, kissing procrastination goodbye.
Maintain healthy living.
Having multiple workloads is never an excuse to forget this. Nourish your body with vitamins and nutrients to sustain your strength throughout your great ordeal and fuel your mind with only positivity.
Accomplishing these steps is definitive to get a welcome response from people you interact with. When our mind is fueled with optimism and an objective that is for a common good, it is never far that people will extend a helping hand despite a hard fall. Your successes and outstanding output will be cheered on, be taken as inspiration, a pat on the back and positive verbal affirmations.
As Mother Theresa said, “Yesterday is gone, tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.” Starting a commitment whether to time or relationships might be hard to sustain, but faith in yourself and of only the good will.
